Discover Caen, the beating heart of Normandy

Located in the heart of Normandy, Caen is a city rich in history, culture and gastronomy. Nicknamed the “city of a hundred bell towers”, it seduces as much by its heritage as by its modern energy.

Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, Caen today preserves many vestiges from this period: the Château de Caen, the Abbey of Men and the Abbey of the Ladies are the most emblematic. These monuments are accessible just a few minutes' walk from our restaurant.

Caen is also marked by its more recent past. During the Second World War, the city was the scene of violent fighting linked to the 1944 Landings. Caen Memorial is today an essential place, both a museum and a center for reflection on peace.

But Caen is not only a city of history. It is also a vibrant city, animated by its student youth, its markets, its theaters, its festivals and its cultural dynamism. Stroll through the pedestrian city center allows you to discover its shopping streets, its private mansions and its friendly terraces.

Little secret: our restaurant has a floor where you can admire the magnificent Saint-Pierre church.

Just a few minutes away, nature invites itself to the city gates. Orne Valley, the beaches of the Côte de Nacre or the Suisse Normande offer an ideal setting for lovers of hiking, cycling or water activities.

Finally, Caen is also a gourmet city. Between Normandy specialties, renowned cheeses, ciders, and exceptional local meats, Caen's restaurants reflect all the expertise of a generous terroir. In our restaurant, you can discover: Caen-style tripe, Auge Valley chicken, and various local spirits such as Calvados Le Père Jules or cider brandy.
